Leaflets in 8 Languages Introduce Toyako Visitor Center to Foreign Visitors

Hokkaido Regional Environment Office produced leaflets of Toyako Visitor Center in eight languages to introduce the facility to visitors from the overseas.

Toyako Visitor Center, established in May, 2007 by the Ministry of the Environment, is an information facility that introduces the nature and environment of Lake Toya in Shikotsu-Toya National Park. Through exhibitions and displays of the organism of Toyako and its surrounding area, Toyako Visitor Center helps visitors to get in touch with the nature of the area. The newly produced leaflets introduce the facility in English, German, French, Italian, Russian, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, and Korean, in addition to Japanese.

The leaflet of Toya Takarada Nature Experience House, another facility of the Ministry of the Environment in Lake Toya area, was also translated into these eight languages to welcome non-Japanese tourists. Besides the production of these leaflets in foreign languages, Hokkaido Regional Environment Office has further plans to reinforce linguistic assistance to visitors from overseas by providing national park guidebooks and exhibitions in the facilities in foreign languages.
